The vibe
Casual and social. Expect some downtime while sorting, and a lot of chatting. Good for first-timers; there are almost always two or three other new people on a Saturday.

Pro tips from past volunteers (3)
- Park in the gravel lot behind the building. The street spots are permit-only until 10 AM.
- There's coffee in the back room. Nobody tells new volunteers this.
- If you bring a water bottle you'll use it; the sorting room gets warm by 10.
