Seated litter-sorting station at the trailhead, with folding chairs and shade.
Physical and sensory
Outdoor work with bending and hauling. Poison ivy grows along the lower bank and crew leaders point it out.
Parking and transit
Accessible spaces at the Commercial St trailhead lot. The 61 bus lines stop within a five-minute walk.

The vibe

Quiet and outdoorsy. People spread out, so it's less chatty than an indoor shift. This works well if you'd rather work than mingle.

Pro tips from past volunteers (2)

  • Meet at the Commercial St trailhead, not the Beechwood entrance. The sign is easy to miss.
  • Poison ivy grows along the lower bank. Crew leaders will point it out.
